Logan County Students Top of Ohio Ag Tour

Approximately 1,200 Logan County 1st and 4th grade students enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors Friday, September 15 during the Top of Ohio Ag School Day.

First grade students enjoyed their day at Ack-Lee Dairy Farm, the Darling Tunis Farm and Marmon Valley Farm where they learned about livestock and agricultural.  Fourth Grade students spent their day at Logan County Electric Cooperative learning about electricity, safety and energy, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center learning about outdoor careers, nutrition and small animal care and animal science, and Myeerah Nature Preserve where they learned about trees, glaciers, weathering and erosion, archeology, and pollinators.

We are so thankful for our many hosts, speakers, Benjamin Logan and RIverside FFA students and also for our many sponsors that made the student day and the Top of Ohio Ag Tour that was held September 17 such a huge success!

The Logan SWCD employees organized the conservation stop at Myeerah Nature Preserve.  It was awesome!  A big thank you to Bellefontaine City Parks and Recreation District Supervisor, Kris Myers and John Tracey.  They were so accommodating and wonderful!  If you haven't been to Myeerah Nature Preserve yet, ...go!  There have been wetland and pollinator plots developed along with many tree plantings and invasive species removal.  Myeerah is a beautiful Logan County Gem.
