Concealed Carry Application Instructions

 
Application Packets

Concealed Carry applicants shall submit a complete application to the Sheriff in the County which they reside, or their adjacent county of residence.  Packets may be picked up at the Logan County Jail Complex at any time.

Fingerprint/Record Check

After you complete your application you may return the packet during one of the times listed below.  Fingerprints will be taken at this time.  You do not need an appointment.

TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS - 10:00AM - 10:00PM AND SATURDAYS - 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

 
Required Application Items
 
When you come for fingerprinting, you must return the following items in your packet:

Completed application form - typed or printed in black ink.

Non-refundable license fee as follows
   

 

New issue, Ohio resident for more that five years:  $67.00
   
  New issue, Ohio resident for less than five years:  $91.00
   
  Renewal, Ohio resident for more than five years:  $50.00
   
  Renewal, Ohio resident for less than five years:  $74.00
   
  Temporary emergency, Ohio resident for more than five years:  $37.00   (See Ohio's Concealed Carry Laws Handbook for detailed instructions)
   
  Temporary emergency, Ohio resident for less than five years:  $54.00    (See Ohio's Concealed Carry Laws Handbook for detailed instructions)
   
  Replacement License:  $15.00
   
  Retired Law Enforcement are exempt from the fee.

Passport size color photo (2X2) taken within 30 days of application

Self addressed stamped envelope.  (Legal size #10)

Training and Competency Certification under one of the following guidelines:

A certificate of completion of a firearms safety course that was offered by or under the auspices of the NRA.
   

*

A certificate of completion of a class that was open to the public which used instructors approved by the NRA or Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
   

*

A certificate of completion of a state, county, municipal or Ohio Department of Natural Resources peace officer training school.
   

*

A document which shows the applicant is an active or reserve member of the armed forces, or was honorably discharged within the past six years, or is a retired highway patrol trooper, or a retired peace officer or federal law enforcement officer.
   

*

A certificate of completion of a class that was conducted by an instructor who was certified by an official or entity of Ohio, another state, the United States Government or the NRA.
   

*

An affidavit from a qualified instructor that attests to the applicants completion of a course which satisfies the minimum educational requirements.
   
  If the applicant passes the background check, applicant will be notified within 45 days by mail to report for the issuance of the license.
