Lieutenant Ryan Furlong graduated from the Bellefontaine Schools in 1991, Sinclair Community College Police Academy in 1995 and in 2007 from DeVry University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Management. Lieutenant Furlong joined the Washington Township Police Department in 1995 where he served as a part-time Police Officer. Later the same year he joined the Logan County Sheriff’s Office as an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff. In 1996, Lieutenant Furlong was promoted to full-time Corrections Officer and in 1997 he was promoted to a Deputy Sheriff and assigned to the Patrol Division. Lieutenant Furlong was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007 and was assigned to supervise Logan County Communications. Lieutenant Furlong was promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to supervise the Patrol, Detectives, and Communications Divisions.  During his time as a patrol officer he attended numerous advanced courses in computer Forensics. Lieutenant Furlong has assisted and testified in numerous Child Sex Crime cases and is classified as an expert witness in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
